Renters
Congratulations! You have your pilots licence and would like to fly with us.
MWFC must collect some documentation, such as your licence and medical, to ensure that you have met currency requirements for both Transport Canada and MWFC insurance requirements. This requires that you first complete the Rental Registration Form. A check-ride with one of our authorized instructors otherwise known as a Check on Type (C.O.T) flight will be required. Successful completion of a C.O.T will allow you to rent our aircraft subject to aircraft availability.
Pre-requisites
- current medical for your licence
- Aviation Document Booklet (A.D.B) must be valid
Check On Type (C.O.T) Requirements
Pass a C.O.T with a MWFC instructor in order to demonstrate
- a proper pre-flight, planning and taxi
- a safe maneuvering of the aircraft during airwork exercises
- proper crosswind and landing techniques
- an understanding of current Transport Canada airlaw and airspace requirements relevant to CYQS
- proper radio use and etiquette
Privileges
Rent appropriate aircraft of type from MWFC subject to our school's pilot currency and insurance requirements

- 45 days for pilots with more than 100, but less than 500 PIC hours
- 60 days for pilots with more than 500 PIC hours
Currency is tracked by MWFC dispatch and pilots over their applicable currency period may be subject to a circuit check or C.O.T depending on lapsed time. All bookings must be done through dispatch directly.
